    Unknown Elongated C. Chinese

I grew some Aji Dulce #2 (A sweet/heatless Chinense) this year and two of them looked very different from anything I was growing, they are C. Chinense, elongated pods (over two and a half inches long sometimes), wedge shaped, ripen from medium green to red and ripen gradually like a Bih or Buht...

    breeding RichardK's 2010 Crosses

Hello everyone, first off I hope everyone is having a good season and I would like to share some details on some crosses I made last season. I have looked around the internet and found very few details on intentional or unintentional pepper crosses and the results. So I put these images...

    Pepper ID

I have this C. Chinense plant this year, found them at a local grocery store in a little plastic container, they were moldy as hell and out of 12 pods, three were ripe. Anyway, they were large, and light green colored and ripened to yellow then orange then red. I figured, I'll buy them (even...

    Mutant Flowers

Something strange going on inside the flowers of several plants I'm growing this year, and it's happening to more than one variety (some I have grown before with no problem) and on a few it has gone away (so it's not a genetic mutation). Few weeks ago I noticed some of my (very healthy looking)...

seeds Albino Seedlings ( chlorophyll deficient cotyledons)

I germinated an ass-load of seeds this year, and about 8 out of all of them (various varieties) are albinos, has anyone ever had these mutants grow to a decent plant or did they die out eventually? My instinct tells me to yank them out, but I don't want to do that if there is a chance they can...

Who says small plants dont produce?

I have two examples to prove that wrong! Heres the first example, this is a Caribbean Red cutting I made in April, the cutting was about an inch long when it started. Today, it has over 30 pods on it and it's no taller than a foot, the stem no thicker than a pencil, and about two feet wide...

pests Bug ID: What the *&!% are these things?

Ok, I have these tiny (almost microscopic), yellow to green, long and skinny bugs running around the inside of my flowers. I looked on google, and the closest thing they look like are thrips, though mine appear smaller. They are inside almost every flower on my plants, even ones that are about...

    Dangerous round these parts

All my outdoor plants have these little guys running and hopping around, I dont know if they eat any nasties, but they eat a crap load of fungus gnats, which seem to come with every bag of potting soil I buy (regardless of brand). I think they are pretty awesome little creatures, very curious...

    Partial Pod Ripening, Wicked look

I love how my Caribbean Red pods ripen... The other day I was browsing around and found a pod that was ripening in an uneven way and the first thing that popped into my mind was it looked as if somebody had taken a blow torch to the bottom of it to the point where it was glowing red. :hell...

    Blasphemy! Well, not really...

I had to cut some smaller, weaker stems off a few Caribbean Red Habaneros and decided to do something "special" with them instead of throwing them away. How do you make a pepper plant hotter? Zap them with about 10,000 volts @ almost 1 Amp! :hell::hell::hell:

    Possible ID? Thoughts welcomed.

I posted about this Habanero or Chinense variety I found at a local grocery store's produce isle last year. Anyway, the pods are very wrinkled and go from Green to Yellow to Red. The Container labaled them as Habaneros, and I am growing about 20 of these this year. So I was looking around...
