Anyone have experience with these? http://www.stokgrills.com/products/details/drum

I like it because it's $99 at Target, comes stock with cast iron grates, and you can change the center insert or the entire grate to other things, like pizza stone, wok.

WTF boss. Why risk it.

Same price and then you have a Weber.

Whatever the price, since it is a Weber, it will be a one time purchase.

I saw the 4-burner gas version at Target last year, then looked them up online at the time. I was interested because of the CI grates, as well, but not ready to pull the plug until my current grill dies.  I am still likely to go that route when the time comes.

On the pizza stone, I wouldn't judge an entire grill based on a pizza stone.

Here's the way I see it, Boss. Buy the hundred dollar grill if you get a season of grilling out of it, great> If you get two seasons out of it, that's bonus time. I've done quit a few cheapo grills and thats the way I see it. And I treat them like shit, no cover and left in the weather. When it gets to greasy I just turn it on high and let it catch on fire til the grease burns off (I dont recommend this, it can get pretty dangerous). I will often flip over one of the angle iron heat shields and throw wood chips in it too, instant ghetto smoker.

I've been looking for an old weber genesis I can refurbish on CL but not willing to pay more than a hundred bucks, not really finding what I want.

I'm thinking of splurging this year and getting this pos

I have owned several gas grills over the years and they are very usefull for my wife and kids to fire up and use. They are clueless when it comes to starting a weber or a kamado like we now have. So now I just have a table top gas grill I picked up at Costco a couple years ago for $99. They use is for a quick hot dog, link or burger.

Now don't laugh but the Stok makes an electric grill that looks interesting.  :)

The simple solution would be to teach them to use the non-gas type. Oh yeah, but that's a PITA to start and clean up for something that could be done in a microwave. ;)

I currently have an electric grill. It was a good thing for me to get at the time. I wasn't sure if I'd actually use a grill or not, as I had been grill-less for several years. I've since found that yes, I use it enough to warrant getting another grill when this one goes. My next one, however, will likely be gas, as I don't want the clean-up of a charcoal grill.

Any ides where they're made? If China, I personally wouldn't be itching to waste money on a disposable grill. It seems like one of those situations where they tried to add bells and whistles at the expense of quality. Maybe it's billed as being able to do a lot of things, but I wouldn't count on it doing any of them very well.
