Melons require a lot of space, so it's up to you on what to do with them. You could try and train the vines to head toward the edge of your patch, but that could get aggravating.
I don't want to plaster pics in your grow log so I'll provide some links to my garden last year as as example of what you can expect from the melons.
This first shot was taken June 5th last year and shows the melons on the right in a 16 foot wide area dedicated to them.

Not long after the melon vines were setting fruit outside the gardens perimeter.
Wow you're not kidding. Maybe I should have read up before planting them haha I would move them but I really don't know where else they can go. I'll just let them grow in that area and trim anything that gets in the way of the chiles. Even if they don't fruit it's not the end of the world.

Hoping mine look that good..Been awhile since I have updated. My good old cat has of course bit my camera cable in half...so I'm waiting for a replacement in the mail so unfortunately no pics. Not much activity anyway...since they were transplanted about two weeks ago most have not really grown much at all. The problem is too much rain! I've been getting a thunderstorm with heavy rains basically every other day so the ground never has a chance to dry out. I swear there might have been two days in a row at most with no rain.
On the good side some plants have started budding and producing flowers, some pods. I have the most on my ornamental plant (unfortunately), two double potted NuMex Twilights. Already liking the purple to yellow transitioning on it, but I hope they have a decent flavor too (anyone tasted one???). Others that are in the very early stages of starting pods are my Zimbabwe Birds, Pimient d'Espellete, Onza, De Arbol, and Habanero White Bullets. The first few are not surprising given they were my most vigorous plants but the White Bullets seem to have taken off quite quickly. Also my most shocking is the Chocolate Habanero in the largest container I have, it is by far my biggest C. chinense plant and has done incredibly well, aside from the leaf damage by insects or some animal. I'm guessing the container plants get better drainage which is why they are doing better. Pretty much all of my plants from CCN are doing poorly
Next year I will be doing 100% of my plants from seed.
Today all of the plants were given a 250 ppm foliar spray of GA3, hopefully to counteract the lack of growth from the rain. I will have that new cable soon and will be able to get some pics up. Too early to fret too much. My plants were looking quite yellow when they were first planted out, then started to green up when the temps stabilized and got through the first set of rainy days, then got a little yellow again after nearly 6-7 in of rain in a week, and now that the rain is more spread out, greening up again. Gotta love Mother Nature. Hopefully your weather will start to dry out some for you so those plants can get going.

Well I finally have an update to post. FINALLY got my replacement cord for the camera. I am going to post several pictures to show what a 250ppm foliar spray of GA3 did for me in a 10 day period. The first set will be pictures taken from June 20 and the second set will be photos from June 30. They seem to have definitely improved and I might just have to give them another spray of 300pm. Most are still really small and seem very far from producing pods and it worries me since it's already July.

I sprayed them yesterday evening with a 300 ppm solution this time. Can't believe the results I got on the container plants. I'm hoping for a bit more of a boost on some of the smaller ones in the ground. They were quite water logged up until this week so I'm hoping that now it's dried out a bit they will want to grow more. Thanks for your help wayright really looks to be paying off.
