Would a fisherman who fish for a living, like fish? or is that too fishy? fish!

I know it might shock you a bit, but this thread is indeed about fish.
Just saw an article about meh favorite fish being successfully grown in sweet-water ponds (wasn't possible 'til now), and got into a small argument with a friend 'bout which fish tastes better.
So what's y'all favorite fish? here's mine:
  1. White Grouper
  2. Dusky Grouper
  3. Gilt-head Bream
  4. Thin-lipped Grey Mullet

Red Snapper (whole fish deep fried with chili sauce, Thai style)
Catfish (deep fried; fingerlings, not fillets)
Dolphinfish/Mahi Mahi (grilled or blackened)
Tuna (raw or seared)
King Mackerel (smoked)

Oh, forgot to mention how I like 'em.
I like both groupers deep fried, but the white one is pure magic in chrayme! the bream is fantastic grilled and the mullet is either grilled in foil with herbs or in teh oven.

Almost forgot one of my favorites, now added. Red snapper, whole fish deep fried with chili sauce, from Thia restaurants!

1 Corvina (type of Seabass. Either fried whole or in Ceviche...ah, Ceviche. With onions, lime juice, and some nice chillies)
2 Mackerel (having some now, actually. Mmmmmmm....fish)
3 Mahi-Mahi (have only had it once, but it was one some friends of mine and I caught on a day out fishing in Panama and BOY was it good)
4. Salmon (smoked)
5. Red Snapper (Fried)
:)

Oh yeah the BEST when fresh caught. I've caught these babies myself and grilled them on the dock. Good list.

Gracias! :)

Cool thing about having lived in various different climate zones is you get to eat so many fantastic things.

I've had Tilapia, which is good, but I'm not a big fan of freshwater fish when they come from really muddy sources (and it doesn't get muddier at times than the Chagres in Panama).

Uncles used to fish Peacock Bass in the Canal, but never gotten around to trying them.

When I moved to Liverpool I was exposed to Smoked Scottish Salmon, and proper Cod.

Waiting to try Jellied Eel to see what that's like, and Pilchards.

Ah, we forgot the one little fella that makes so many of our meals great:

The humble anchovy!

King, silver, and sockeye salmon...smoked, grilled or sauteed
Atlantic salmon...smoked, grilled or sauteed
Steelhead (searun rainbow trout)....any way and probably my all time favorite

Lake trout (machinaw)...deep fried or sauteed
White bass....baked
Crappie....deep fried
Walleye...deep fried
Red snapper...any way
Black cod grilled or sauteed
Halibut....any way
Snook...grilled
Mako shark...grilled
Barracuda...(deep water, not reef) grilled
Cobia....grilled
Dolphin....grilled
Snapper...grilled, sauteed or baked
Redfish...grilled, sauteed or blackened
Speckled trout ....grilled or sauteed
Tuna....pan seared
Dover Sole...sauteed
Flounder....sauteed

Wahoo marinated in orange juice and soy sauce
Fried Mahi-Mahi fingers
Black Sea Bass aka poor man's lobster
Blackened seared Yellowfin Tuna
Fried flounder po'boy
Sheephead fresh caught never frozen

TB,

I was going to put some of those too. Cobia grilled, nice oily fish if you like that. Good on a toasted hero with lettuce, tomato, and hot sauce.

Flounder is also a nice fish simply sauteed in butter.

Speckled trout, or "spec" are good, for fresh water.

Good list TB!

Ok TB has the ultimate list, but I have a few favorites.

Chilean Sea Bass cooked in salt
TB's smoked salmon
Bluefin Tuna seared rare
Pan fried Chesapeake Striped Bass
Rainbow Trout Meuniere

Omri, I have never had several of your list. If you make any of them please make post of them so I can check it out!

I wish i knew where i could get some of those here...
Actually you *can* get most of those here, and surprisingly enough, fresh!
You gotta know where to look.

CP, the white grouper is the tastiest fish in existance, why look elsewhere?
Grouper = lokus
Bream = dennis
Mullet = buri (a classic)

BTW forgot to mention the amazing river trout (forel) found here. tastes awesome no matter how you cook it.

I may have missed this.. but forgive me if i have.. my dad is a HUGE fisherman... so from him (and me)...

yellowfin tuna... on the BBQ... tasteee
