Weird Rocoto Observation

I've been noticing something with both my Rocoto Red from last year and my Rocoto Yellow I got this year. Their leaves often seem to have a downward-curved, hook-like appearance, and seem to act as the tendrils on a pumpkin plant, "grabbing" onto other nearby branches (but of course without all the extra twisting action). One leaf on the Rocoto Yellow seems to have grown to be perfectly fitted and well attached to a nearby branch on the same plant.

These leaves also seem to "stick" onto other plants more than others when moving plants around for maintenance. Anyone else notice such growth in their Rocotos? None of my various chinenses or jalapenos are doing anything quite like it. I had a Hot Lemon (baccatum) last year that had similar downward-hook leaves, but even its leaves didn't seem to "grab on" to other nearby stems.
