The Small Hot Cherry Pepper from Turkey - Kucuc Aci Kiraz

Another great looking pepper from Judy at Pepperlover.com

I don`t know why, but I always find myself attracted to round peppers like this. They just look cool, I think. The Aromas from the pepper were fairly subdued, but typical of C.annuum. Slightly sweet, slightly fruity and a variation on the red bell pepper aromas.

The flavour, however, was in a different ballpark altogether from a bell pepper. There was some slight sweetness, but incredibly fruity flavors, balanced with a nice acidic element. The fruit flavors it reminded me of were slight cherry notes, with a lot of aromatic notes reminiscent of a ripe pear. The acidity just brought all the flavors together to make a really delicious whole.

The heat was very low, perhaps a quarter of a Jalapeño, but the flavors were so good, who cares?!?!?!?

Great review as always!
I have become very interested in all those turkish/albanian/macedonian varieties. I hope Judy will create a collection pack with all those varieties in it! :)

Great review Nigel, but I figured out how you do it. I saw you shapeshift at 4:58
Yep freaked me out too! I had to play it a couple of times thinking the heat was getting to me (Only 108 here today).

Nice review Nigel. I like good tasting thick walled pods with a smidgen of heat. Something you can snack on.
