Not sure what these are....

....but they're hotter than anything I've ever grown before! I picked them up from a local nursery.....

They're just now ripening...and I'm dehydrating them as they come in. When I finished cutting those four in half to go in the dehydrator, I instinctively licked the sides of the knife just to see what they taste like.....

....I thought I had cut my tongue with the knife.

It felt like someone was putting a lit cigar out on my tongue! I mean....I've had some really hot things in my life....as most of you already know. But these things are going to be EVIL!

.....I can't wait to mix them in with the Biohazard!

Any thoughts on what they might be?

Look like Scorpions. Very hot!

On appearance alone, I would heartily agree with you, but the scorpions I've had in the past seemed much milder....

.....if that term even applies in a case like this!  :P

Whatever they are, the heat from them is instant and intense! Quite the happy accident!

Also look similar to 7 pot brain strain, which burned more than any pepper I've ever eaten. Several folks here agree that the brain strain has the highest level of perceived heat, even if it is not at the top of the Scoville ratings.

It's bumpy like a brain, but it's a tad off-pheno... Also, I'd be surprised to find Brainstrains at a local nursery... Although I guess Scorpions are only slightly more likely.

But yes, red BrainStrains are incredibly painful. I love'm...

Agree with this.  They look hot as hades...

This should  be posted in "Pepper ID" specifically for this type of question.

I disagree.

I asked the identification question as an afterthought. Fact is, I really don't give a damn what they are, as long as they're all this hot......

.....but thanks for your contribution to the discussion.

Willard,

I just realized that my response might have sounded crass......

....please don't take it that way. I sincerely apologize.

Could you have them tested? I mean if you are experienced and these seem that hot it would be interesting..

I hadn't considered that. I just assumed they were some sort of happy accident!

Outside of something extract-based.....they're hotter than anything I've personally experienced.......and that includes things from several THP members. (HSL....I'm waiting for more of your amazing creations!!)
