Jeff H's trimmed down glog

I debated whether I was doing a glog this year. I guess I am.
 
 
 
The few pubes and chinense I wanted to grow had germination issues. I ended up with a few orange rocotos and a few MOA plants. That was all. I'll pick up a couple of supers at the nursery this spring. I don't need much, the freezer is still full.....
 
A couple varieties of cayanne, a few types of jalapeno, poblano, Brazilian starfish, bishop's crown, and several others that I forget round out the hot peppers.
 

 

 
 

 
Tomatoes in the forground. Since I took this pic a couple weeks ago the tomatoes have all been transplanted. I'm heading into the year with 15 tomato plants. 3 varieties.

Update on the puppy too.
 

 
She was leaving the gardens alone all winter until while the ground was frozen but just a couple of weeks ago when it warmed up,  She discovered that she loves digging in the soft ground.....now all the gardens are fenced in.

Yeah, dogs. The main reason my garden is fenced; they just like to "help". Plant a butt load of onions and the next day they uh re-planted them for ya....LOL

Thanks Shane, You back for the whole season this time?  Pup is cute, but with how much she digs, there wouldn't be a garden if I didn't fence it.

I hope to be back for most of it. I will have some underway time this summer, and I leave for 10 days at the beginning of April. I should have more time to dedicate to the garden than I have in many years though.

5" nursery pots, but yes, that is all they are. I wanted to keep the roots contained so they didn't all grow together. That would happen pretty quick if I used those square net pots.

Herb garden is now in full swing.
 

 

 
Parsley, rosemary, basil, and thyme for now. Starting lettuce and oregano in the Aero garden as well as more basil. I'll put them in here when they are a couple inches tall.

Thanks Juanitos. It really has been low maintenance. Just add a little water once a week. The plants are so small that it isn't really even necessary to change the nutes all that often.

Everything is pretty healthy and no pests to fight off this spring so far. This has been my most trouble free start to a season yet except for the few plants that wouldn't germinate.
 
 
Prepping garden beds over the weekend. Spread a yard of composted manure. Here are the back two beds.
 

 
Garlic is coming along nicely.

I like the dogster fence, it is so needed for the little "helpers". They offer a free tilling service, but their timing is a bit off. They need to till before one plants

The light is a 600W HPS, but it has a variable output power supply and is only running 450 watts right now.

Pics from last night. Here in Ohio we are only a couple of weeks away from starting to harden off. I have a hoop house I could erect. so as long as is stays a little on the mild side, they will at least be out of my basement by the end of the month. Good thing too. Most all of the plants are looking good but a few seem to have used up the fertilizer in the soil so I'll need to supplement a little nitrogen in their diet until they go outside in the soil for good.

     Everything looks great, Jeff. Your tomatoes really blew up! I'm always amazed at how fast they grow compared to peppers when I  grow them side by side.
