hybrid Fun Crosses for 2013

Here are two different crosses that came about by my open pollination practices.

The parents are questionable, due to a healthy bee population.

1) Bonda Ma Jacques x Cherio Recife

They taste great with the nice fruity flavor of the cherio recife.

The "father" plant, Cherio Recife ( a.k.a.  Beni Market)

2) Jamaican Yellow Scotch Bonnet  x  ????

These are huge!    Sure looks like a Red Habanero or Congo Red, but I had no red habs at all in my garden last year.

Mother plant was solid yellow SB's:

What happens in the garden, stays in the garden!

Do you have some funky pods to show?

Cool looking pods! Very nice crosses! I'm going to be doing some crossing in the next season or two, for the first time. I haven't tried it yet due to lack of space.

Well, there's random pot luck crossing which is what I have; and then there's careful isolated crosses that produce something you can predict.   Both are fun.

I like cherio recife. How is the flavor or is it ornamental?

These are very, very fruity with moderate heat.    Maybe 50,000 SHU.

Medium thick skins.      Small pods,  good for salsa and snacking.

great looking pods.  I really like the first ones!

Thanks, that one shocked me as it was expected to be Bonda ma Jacques.   Another BMJ grew true to form, not crossed and very prolific.
