Does anyone know the Cabacinha

Am looking for info on the Cabacinha. Is a Brazilian pepper, capsicum chinense, with the shape of a pear. I was told that they belong to the family of the pimenta fidalga.

Looking forward to feedback.

The pbase link is not really correct. It says the Cheiro Laranja is same as Cabacinha, and they are 2 different species.

Donnie, thanks for the offer, but the Cabacinha has a more pronounced pear shape. What you have looks more like a Fidalga. You can find a picture on this Brazialian site:

You might want to contact some of the brazilian forum members (Marcio is the only one I can think of at the mo, but there are quite a few). I'm sure one of them knows about this species.

Hi, gvittman,
I have Fidalgas (red, yellow, purple and orange) but they don't look like the Cabaça.
