    Saving Potting Mix?

I save all my soil for the most part.  If i don't need it right away, I just mix it with the compost and prepare for later use.  If you don't have compost, you can solarize it in order to kill any eggs or bad bugs before using it again.  I'll usually do that by weighing down a plastic cover of...

Consider spraying neem oil on the leaves and trop dressing with some compost to help re-invigorate the plant.  Could also apply neem cake directly to the soil to combat any possible pests that have laid eggs in the soil during the overwintering.  Keep an eye out for Aphids that should be...

    ***Beginner Tips?

Go to your local Home Depot and they should carry Dr. Earth potting soil.  It's OMRI listed (certified for Organic use).  I would also top dress with compost and mulch.  For aphid control, planting with Marigolds is your best bet.

    High temp Woes

Provide shade and avoid exposure to afternoon sun at all costs when dealing with those temps.  Add lots of compost and mulch and keep em growing. I like to do nightly foliar drenches with water...sometimes mixed with aloe vera.

    Mulch around plants?

Where I live (low desert) mulch is as essential as a good soil and fertilizer.  This is what I use:    15566_6655_popup.jpg

Mangled Pepper Plant - What is this?

Everything in the raised garden bed are thriving so we are afraid to toss it.  Could could be acting as a natural pest deterrent (sacrificing itself to the good of the tomatoes)  Occasionally but we live in the same area and my peppers look healthy.  So yeah seems like this is mite damage but...

My buddy's pepper plant continues to grow but everything is mangled looking including the stem.  Any idea of what this is?  No pests are noticeable and temperature outside is perfect.  I don't think it's overwatered because there are other pepper plants in this garden box that look fine.  No...
