The Official Yellow Scorpion CARDI Grow Thread...

I am eagerly awaiting a mature pod so I can test the hotness of this pepper. I agree that probably not in the same class as the big boys in the 7 pod "complex" but if it has fatalii level heat, that would be hot enough for me. :mouthonfire: This immature YSCardi pod here has the "classic"...

The Official Yellow Scorpion CARDI Grow Thread...

Haven't been around this board for awhile and was suprised to see this thread still going strong! In my experience, these Yellow Scorpion CARDI's are one of, if not the most, vigorous super hot chili peppers that I have had the good fortune to grow. CARDI sure knows how to breed 'em. I have...

sun Morning sun or evening sun?

Interesting question... When I first harden-off my plants, morning sun is a killer. Afternoon sun, sunburn minor to none. I suspect that the low angle in the morning is the culprit. For mature, hardened-off plants I'd give 'em sun until about 1pm, then shade or filtered sunlight. Hippy grows...

    Jalapeno Wilted

That plant has been hit by wind and sun. Move it to a cooler less hostile environment....Spring is a dangerous place for peppers that have been grown indoors (including greenhouses).

    Sky's 2010 season.

Lookin' terrific Sky! You got da' fever and I enjoy your enthusiasm.... I got loads of Aji Limon seeds that you could have sprouted and up to good size in 6 weeks. Not the Aji Lemon Baccatums but rather the Aji Limon Chinense. Small, about inch to inch and half but ooooh so nice! They make...

    Did I kill this plant

Some folks purposely "cap" their plants. Although this is generally done with young plants, not seedlings, the purpose is to produce a plant that grows small and "bushlike" as opposed to naturally tall.

sun What does sunburn on leaves look like?

Yeah, I got a couple plants sunburned as well. My "specimen" 7 pot seems to have got hit the hardest...it was also the tallest plant out of the ones that I put out. Just mainly the upper leaves...a couple have fallen. As others have said, the plant will usually recover unless maybe it was...

The Official Yellow Scorpion CARDI Grow Thread...

It has been beautiful weather here in the mid-Atlantic over the past 4 or 5 days. Highs in the mid-70's and wall to wall sunshine. My peppers have been vacationing outdoors... Here is one of my Yellow Scorp CARDIs that germinated about the second week of January. This plant is a good 20"...

    Lee's 2010 WildChilli Grow season

Looks awesome Lee! I'm growing CAP 1144 that I got from Fatalii in 2009. Love the look of the flower more than anything else. Question for ya'. Is there soil under the hydroton that I see in your pots? Doesn't appear as if you are growing hydro, so interested to know if there is a purpose...

seeds 7 Pot Porn...Seed From Hippy!

Thought that some may enjoy the pics of my 8 week old "normal" or "red" 7 Pot plant. The seeds for this beast were sourced from THSC. Germination Rate of 80+ percent which I consider to be pretty Darn good! Post some of your own 7 Pots or 7 Pot Pods if you care too!

seeds THSC Trinidad Scorpion germination times...

None of the TScorpion seeds that I purchased from THSC germinated and I know how to germinate pepper seeds. That is zero for 8. On the other hand, I got a good germination rate from the 7 pot seeds I bought from Hippy. Go figure. I think that the Scorps may have been crushed or semi-crushed...

    my start for 2010

Good to see your season up and running, Pappy! Everything is looking good so far. Those Doughlah seeds you sent me last summer sprouted in a jiff and are looking real good. Can't wait to put those Douglahs outside and hope they grow half as good as the monster Douglah that you had last season.

seeds Having lots of trouble germinating bonda ma jacques

Sometimes it happens, even from reliable seed sources. Last year I couldn't get the white habaneros to germinate even though the seeds came from a reputable and reliable source. This year, I couldn't get ButchT Scorpion seeds to germinate and they too came from a very reputable and reliable...

Superb! Yes, those Yellow Scorpion CARDI are very robust plants that love to grow and grow and grow! My largest plant so far is a Bhut Jolokia that I started from the seeds you sent me ("Seeds from Giant Bhut Jolokia Pod"). I'll post a pic for ya a little later.... Oh, are you putting...

    Morouga Red

Is the Morouga Red a "Scorpion" variety or simply "just another Trinidad superhot pepper". Peppermania sent me some seeds au gratis in 2008. They were labeled as Trinidad Scorpion Morouga Red...so heck, I thought that they were or are a scorpion variety. I didn't plant any for my 2009 season...
