music Best Reggae

in '78 i had a chance to see bob marley in toronto, debuting his kaya tour. i have been a marley fan since Natty Dread. yes, i have all the marley albums but not his sons. i have tried to listen to them but they are not Bob.

then i think in '95 or so, in calgary, i watched the left overs, playing lead by junior marvin and ashton barret. their most powerful moment was playing "positive vibration". that was awesome.

today, when i choose a marley album, i generally pick "uprising" or "natty dread" after some 35+ years of enjoying marley. kaya plays in my van from the time i get in, to i get where i am going - i only have the old cassett type player. i no longer look for anything reggae, i am true Marley... anything else is just ska and not my interest.

enjoy.

Nice thread bump ... I need to check some of this out later on tonight ...

In the early nineties when I lived in the Just Funkin' studio, I ripped a Barrington Levy a capella  from Vice Versa Love ...
One Sunday morning after being awake for like 36 hours and on everything that I enjoyed at the time, I busted out a sick breaks track and we made a couple of test presses in acetate ...

Months later I had a falling out with my roommate in the house, and moved out abruptly ...

I played that acetate until it wore out, but those bastards never did give me my track's ProTools files back ... so it's gone baby gone.

I'm still pissed about that ...
