soil Using my Soil/Potground from last year

Hey everyone,
a new year has arrived to start growing and i am planning to re-use last years soil.

Now i threw in some finely grinded egg-shell and some epsom salt a couple of months back,
BUT i also threw some leaves in there ....

Now i thought the leaves would be all composted/gone or how do u say it.
But ... they are not realy gone lol  :surprised:

So judging by how this looks do u guys think i could use this soil or not ?
Thanks !

u could still use if ofc...  tho i would mix it up with a bag or two of potting soil or wtver.

looks like what we call around here a "claybreaker," kind of a leaf-litter type stuff you add to this godawful red clay we call soil here to improve drainage and fertility.

I'd mix it into some regular soil with a bit of sand, you should be good using it otherwise, maybe try to break up some of the larger leaves with a hoe or something and wet it down a little bit, I dunno.

I would screen out the leaves and put them back in the compost pile. Compost needs to be "done" before you use it. IMO.

Sorry for the late reaction and thanks for the help Guys !

I will remove a little of the big leaves,
And add 2-3 big bags of new fresh soil.

The ground was from containers and i just put it there to 'rest'

Thanks again everyone !!
