I want to sterilize my soil but Im not sure how to do it. It is miracle grow potting soil with perlite and I was going to put it in the microwave, but I just read that heating perlite will release toxic chemicals in the soil. Is this true?
How should I starilize this soil?
I'm no expert, but pouring diluted(?) hydrogen peroxide or boiling water through it may be possible ways to do it. I've never heard that about perlite, but I've never really looked into it.
