soil Light gray fuzzy stuff growing on my soil

I just planted some seeds this last Thursday in soil that is in paper egg cartons that are kept in an aluminum foil cinnamon roll sheet that has a clear plastic lid over it like a plastic greenhouse, and have been keeping them in the oven that has a pilot light on all the time, and I just looked at them to see if they need water and seen this light gray and fluffy stuff growing on the soil, should I pet it? kill it? or start over again using some other method?

you got fungus growing. any pictures ?? do you have any ventilation or air movement in there?? when there is no air movement /stuffy like that best condition for fungus growth.

You are right, it is fungus "damping off", I had no air flow. I found a couple good links that talk about what to do to help prevent it.
