fertilizer Fertilizer Question

Hi all,
 
I am very knew to growing peppers. I was wanting to ask the community if there is an existing nutrient guide that goes into how often you should up your nutrients or if you all could just tell me how you do it? i recently tried to bump on of my peppers up to 600 (from 300) and it didn't go well. So i put it back down to 200 to cool off and things resolved. Thanks in advance!!

welcome. you should include more info on how you are growing. 
looks like you may be talking hydro which I have no experience with. but if you are - you should say so. paint the full picture.

If you fertilize at about 25% of what you  read as recommendations from the fert mfg, that's about right.
 
Remember what the mfg is selling.
