media cocos fiber as mulch

I'm going to use cocos fiber as mulch for my peppers this year.
But how many litres do I need for 1 m²?
 
I'm going to buy Plagron coco-brix.

how thick do  you want it? is simple calculation really lol.
 
4cm thick: * 1 meter wide * 1 meter long = .04 cubic meter = 40 litres
 
1 plagron coco brik = 9 liter

I have a machine to chop wood.
Does it matter what kind of wood I use?

Anything but black walnut, to my understanding. A thin layer of compost prior to mulching helps. Link-o-rama

Doesn't compost accelerates the composting proces of the mulch?

I would see that as a positive myself ie. Ruth Stout method. The reason I posted it though, is there will be a bit of nutrient tie up at the mulch/soil level, a problem with new plants/sprouts.
