    Oh wow. Lots of central nc folks. I'm in holly springs, so just down the road. I started mine in march indoors in cups, following the advice of people here. They are in pots and raised beds now. Just starting to get the earlier peppers coming in. I will have to post some pictures too.

    Are you sure they aren't Mexican Bean Beetles? Those tore up my green beans last year. Ate them down to just stems and skeleton leaf veins. http://www.garden.org/pestlibrary/bugs.php?q=show&id=1625

    Nice. I have a similar setup. 2 4x4 raised beds, doing 1 foot square spots and Mel's mix. Seemed to work great last year with just 1 4x4 bed.

    Hey Folks! Last year I grew my first peppers in a raised bed and also some pots, and had really good results. All my other plants died horrible deaths (deer, rabbits, bugs, etc) but nothing touched the peppers. So this year I figure I'll grow mostly peppers! I've started a bunch of seeds...
