I do not have a picture of my peppers to post but I did find this on Google which represents what my peppers look like. Here are the details that I can share. I am hoping someone can give me advise moving forward to avoid this.
My raised beds are now two years old. Soil added was originally...
I think I got it now. I bought another TDS meter and found that my old one was reading about 230ppm less then the new. I put .5g of salt in .5l of water to get roughly 1000ppm to use as a test. So my nutrient solution is more in the 900-1000 ppm range after taking off what the tap water is. I...
The curling is slowly getting more pronounced. I think I found one problem. My reservoir temp is at 81F and in my research it should be between 68-75F optimally with over 80 not being good. The roots look good however. Thoughts?
I don't think it is too much N since what I use is 3-12-6...
I was researching this exact same problem and found these pictures on a Google search that are identical to what my pepper plants are now doing. This is my first time trying to grow peppers hydroponically. I am using a large 27 gallon tote for two plants. The plants are still a bit smaller then...
Here is what I came up with today. I will have to take it off in 2 weeks as the pepper grows and do it again with a bigger hole. I will let you know how it works out. This pepper is coming back from being attacked already.
These little buggers are driving me crazy! Please help with sound advice.
I already gave up starting peppers from seed. I tried to grow them to 5 inches tall in pots but even then they cut them down after transplant. I have tried the following:
1) Pieces of straw around the stem but they...
So I found that I have a cutworm problem. Assuming they will do no further damage I am wondering if a few of my pepper plants will recover.
Some of them were not cut down but the base of the stem has been chewed fairly deep on all sides, like a finished corn on the cobb. All the leaves are...
All seems ok, maybe PH slightly lower. With that said it may be the soil or nutrients in it. Make sure soil isn't always wet. Peppers like their roots to dry out, even to the point when they barely start to wilt. What soil did you use?
Type of light is important for indoor growing. Blue light is more for foliage where more yellow helps with fruiting. Nutrients also play a factor in this as well.
Maybe place a barrier around the stem like you suggest, throw a mix of Seven dust and diatomaceous earth down around the stem for insurance. I want the bastards dead!
For tonight, I sprayed some neem oil and soap on the bottoms of the plants. I hope that deters them for the night at least until I can formulate a plan of action. I can spray with Bacillus Thuringienses but that won't kill worms till they feed. I might just have to get some seven dust down...
I have seen slugs around the house so they are there but I think they would eat leaves too. I just inspected further to find a couple others have been munched on at the base of the stem but not enough to make a clean cut. It is as if something when along the stem like corn on the cobb but only...
Something is chewing off my pepper plant stems and isn't even giving me the courtesy of eating it. Any ideas what this could be? I know of the cutworm but these are raised beds with a mix of soil I just put in them 4 months ago. You can see the chew marks on the stem above the cut. Only 1 leaf...
