    pests Fungus gnats!

sounds like aphids are like that, way more deadly inside because nothing to keep them in check. i suppose that if the gnats "gnaturally" move about in the soil as any animal would, they should disperse away from the root balls. but it's such good eatin', and animals also tend to stay nearby...

    pests Fungus gnats!

i have fungus gnats BAD! will i need to rinse all the roots before i plant out to my backyard raised beds? or will the potential future harm become negligible because they will be moving into 1000x more soil than they are in now? can the gnats remain or become a worse problem outdoors, and...

misc It's not a pod! FFS

i was specifically speaking to your point about use of the word in recipes, and gave reasons why it would never be used in that specific situation regardless of its suitability in common parlance. also i did read the whole thread and posted in it earlier as well. and ffs is "for fuck's sake"...

misc It's not a pod! FFS

for a recipe, using the word pod is redundant/not necessary, because: 1. the word chili or pepper must be included to help readers identify what type of food ingredient is being called for 2. the quantity can just be a number (or weight/measure), because 3. there is no ambiguity about what the...

favorite dark or purple foliage types discussion

as i'm sure many of you do as well, i quite enjoy the beauty and uniqueness of pepper plants which grow purple or dark leaves, stems, and sometimes even the pods. i would like to get your opinions on which are your favourite types to grow, or of equal or greater importance, which to avoid. all...

misc It's not a pod! FFS

+1 for pods due to the alliterative quality, so i can say things like a proper plethora of pungent piquinho pepper pods pending picking prior to pickling

    misc Question about hardening off.

my guess if you are doing hardening off, it's not fully necessary to put back in tent and under lights. that would only be needed if you wanted them to keep growing at "maximum speed". the plants still need a normal day's light and typical indoor temps, so as long as the patio door is not...
