OMG... Joe, you're going to love me.

Christmas before last, I gave a handmade filleting knife to Greg. It was made by the one and only person who made the very sword you covet.

Would you like an introduction???

Suffice to say, the answer is yes. Maybe he has a few extras just laying around that he doesn't want...

I have this odd notion of one of these swords being mounted on the wall here and my eldest son taking it down one day and saying to the younger boy,

"In the end, there can be only one..."

You know the rest. Flashes of lightning. House being lifted off its foundation. Lots of other special effects.

Sounds like my lab 3 nights out of the week, as I push the next ZERO btach to the next stage. The house being lifted off its foundation is my wife yelling, "Why couldn't you have picked something else to create that wouldn't burn my skin off?"

We're talking a real sword here... You do know that???

Yup. That's why I was suggesting I would have to make the case/mounting for it high up on the wall. Don't want any unintended quickenings in the house...

I've seen that sword in Highlander merchandise catalogs I've received in the mail before...but never knew who might be behind their making.

The fellow's name is Eric Seguin... He is from Quebec. I have his business card in my office.

I warn you though... He doesn't speak a word of English. Hopefully he has someone working with him to handle english enquiries.

Listen, if your son can create special effects on command via a Quickening...I say let the boys have fun and don't forget to charge admission...

Oh btw... if it isn't signed "Seguin....", it isn't an original.
Checked out his site! WOW. Being a chef a have a bit of a fetish for sharp bladey things. I normally go for Japanese blades, but his look real nice. There can be only one...

My Peppermaster is a chef too, so buying him gifts, as you know, is an exercise in difficult to the extreme. So Seguin's work was a godsend to me. As beautiful as they look, you should know too, that their balance is absolutely perfect.

If you are going to buy a proper bladey thing... This truly is the man to buy them from.

I've got #34 of Blair's 1st Halloween series (of 99) from 2004.

I've got a bottle of Defcon's zero, but have eaten most of it....and wrote a review of it somewhere in here. Oops. I couldn't resist, and he (the creator) sent to me for that purpose. No regrets. Great sauce.

Just got a bottle of CaJohns Reserve 2005. The key to the joy is the number...666 (out of 1500) Should make a nice ebay eventually! "CaJohn's Devil Sauce!"

I just like the whole "conjure up a thunderstorm and lightning on command" part of the Quickening...i wish i had that ability when i was in High School...
