NEW (old) Mac!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!

My father picked up a G3 (PowerPC G3 266MHz) that has OS X on it!! He got it for free from his work and a HUGE graphics monitor to go with it (it's missing the cable but I'll be able to find one at the local electronic surplus store) and I need a two button mouse (stooooooopid one click mac mouses!!). Going to have to find a new hard drive somewhere too b/c the hard drive on there is only 4 gigs (eek!).

Anyone have an idea on how to get on the net via 56k with this sucker? My folks use AOL and I tried to get it to jump on the line....but it didn't work......

Doesn't matter really when it comes to Macs. Back in LA I was using a 10 or 12 year old Mac that was still running circles around a up to date PC.

The problem with PCs is that they get faster and faster and every time you hear new top numbers and hope for more performance they upgrade the Hole-in-the-Wall OS and other software so that the new speed is completely absorbed. But I work with that BS for twenty years now. I don't want to change.

The only really useful graphics program on there is QuarkXPress 4.7(I think it's 4.7...well, it's 4something)....going to have to look for some freebee Photoshop OS9 version b/c they got really hip to the people reusing disks when they came out with the CS's and all the OS X software.
