View Full Version : HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Well since Halloween is one of the only two I celebrate (I celebrate Thanksgiving but did it in reverse, I do it in memorance of all the Native Americans that were wiped out) (although I am thinking about celebrating Canadian Boxing Day just for shits and giggles) so I am wishing everyone here a very Happy and spooooooooky Halloween!!!!!!!
I'll be doing my Jesus thing today and probably go out and pick up my check as the Hippy and run my errands that way. I'm going to one of my favorite bars (La Cave Du Vin) at 6ish and then going to Willougby Brewing company at 9ish for their costume contest.

Halloween has eclipsed all others on the fun scale for me as a parent.
No parties, just me, my spooky sounds, my hellaciously scary ghost hanging from my tree, my 18 tombstones in the front yard, and my chainsaw (sans chain;)).
I freaking love it!
Christmas is a ridiculous holiday, but since family is open to visiting, merry making, etc. at that time, what the hell!
I watch the nightmare before christmas, a christmas story, and scrooged, and call it done.
How Jesus relates to Santa clause makes about as much sense as how an egg laying rabbit relates to the time Jesus was tortured and killed, and then supposedly came back to life.
If they made cadbury "Jesus nailed on the cross"s, I'd buy one!;)

Try "The Christmas that almost wasn't" as well.
And how can you forget "A Charlie Brown Christmas"? If anything just listen to the music. Vince Guaraldi is awesome!

I thought about hooking up my amp and noise toys and making spooky sounds for the trick or treaters (the telephone EM pickup works great for this) and I may still do that if I get back from drinking in time.

I was saying to SM earlier that I am tempted to stick a notice on my door saying 'No trick or treating, a big hungry dog on premises' but I can't really as my boy has decided to go out trick or treating. He originally said he was going to be doorman for the night (only because he's keeper of the sweets then). It's just a little too cold here to be jumping out from behind the door to scare kids. It is tempting to go and get the car out of the driveway and park it up the road and sit by torch light all evening to make out I'm out but it won't work because some of the Mums that go round with the younger kids will think I've orphaned Con. But if any 'overgrown' boys that have a deep voice or a slight bit of facial hair that come round and interrupt my dinner will have my playful dog to deal with.

That reminds me of a sign we bought in the gift shop of the Snook Inn Restaurant in Marco Island, FL: "Unattended children will be given an Espresso and a free puppy."

If I get any kiddies around I don't think they'll have beer on them, I need to go down the road to find those kids and then it would only be Fosters or even worse, Carling. Hey I live in a dead posh area, the cars on our avenue have wheels.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!! In 15 minutes the little goblins will start on their rounds..they can only trick or treat between 4-8 pm for their safety. I always have to get them something, half the fun of Halloween is seeing the darlings dressed up in their costumes. Yep I'm a softie when it comes to kids. You all have a good one.

They grow up so fast or at least parents have that feeling. I can remember my son in his diapers as if it was yesterday. Now he started school and reads... Soon we will see first grade pictures of AJ's little chili pod with school bag and stuff and with the impression that no time has passed at all. That's how we get old.
