Lately I've been harvesting pretty much every day, but when I got back from my extended weekend of camping yesterday I had a bit of work to do. Here's a bunch that I picked last night and early this morning that will keep me busy for a while:)

Ya, I'm freezing all my choc/browns, yellows, and Kapowie peppers for three different sauces I've been working on and I'm now getting a freezer full.

question...what kind of peppers are the red ones in the Cuties box?

The ones in the far end of the cutie box are Guadaloupe habs and some of them are quite huge. I might try making a sauce with these too because I'll be overloaded with them very soon

 And to think that last night I posted a reply to a post saying that I have been busy playing Chase the Pod. Potawie, you have helped to put it all in perspective, that is a fantastic and huge harvest. If all of your harvests have come close to resembling that one in the picture, you have been busy.

To think I was going to say I was speechless...Well...just amazing!

Wow Potawie, that's some harvest. Just beautiful, lots of produce and sure a source of inspiration for the rest of us...don't know how you do it, even colder than MN but you definitely have it down to a science.

I'm with AJ on the shade cloth idea for next year. I have thought being in the southeast would be a huge advantage for growing peppers but seeing how well all of our northern growers have such nice harvest they may have even better growing conditions during summer months. I get no fruit set in the hot south for two months at least and if I can protect my plants from the heat by using a shade cloth I may be able to greatly improve my yeilds. Now that my weather has cooled a bit and no more 100 degree days my peppers look alive again. At least I still have 2 more months. Great peppers again Potawie!

You know, those pods resemble the ones I am growing as Dorset Nagas I got from Ebay...remember the old red headed man and elephant photo I posted...what ever I got sure as hell ain't no Dorset Naga...the plants are heavy with pods shaped like that and some are pretty big...

Since the temp is going down to 4 C tonight, I decided to do some picking before I move plants into the greenhouse. Here's another good harvest of hotties.

Its damn cold here this morning but luckily no frost. I got most of my plants into the greenhouse.
Moyboy, no I haven't sold many peppers this year. I'm freezing, smoking and dehydrating a lot and giving some away too. Sauces and pickled peppers coming soon.
Josh, ya the leaves have been turning for a while but the wind lately has really helped them fall.

Wow Potawie! That's awesome. I'm amazed at what you pull off in your garden with such a short season.

On the west coast here we've been hit with a mini heat wave - temps are in the 20's for the past week, which is about 10c higher then normal. It's awesome for me because it's really giving my tomatoes a boost to get ripe. August was all cold and rainy, so this is making up for it I guess. Too bad you didn't get something similar, your summer was nothing spectacular.

Here's probably my last really big harvest of the year. Cold weather is moving in this weekend and I still have so much processing to do but no extra time:(

very nice again Potawie...

now you got me thinkin...there are a lot of people harvesting superhots big time but why am I lagging behind?...other than the first harvest of Red Savinas and the contest Nagas...I have had maybe 30 superhot pods ripen and there has to be over 1000 superhot pods on the plants...they are just taking their merry time...fruit is growing, putting on new flowers and setting fruit nearly every day...but why can't I get a decent superhot harvest?...it has to be the extreme hot weather I have here....the plants grew fine in the hot weather but no fruit set...major fruit set started about the 1st of September so now my question is am I going to get a good harvest before the first frost?....

imaguitargod

With that many pods you better get a harvest!
