I only realised the plant was a Jalapeno today, I've ignored it thinking it was a Cayenne. What a lovely surprise I got too, I was going to pick all the pods off at the weekend too thinking I could dry them, glad I didn't. It's only a standard Jalapeno, it's done a lot better than my Jumbo and Grande. Maybe I should start looking after it now. I took it out of the greenhouse because the leaves looked unhealthy but I might shove it back in there. I'd be more than happy to be the Queen of big Jalapenos in the UK.

Right I'll tell you my secret, I used Thompson and Morgan Jalapeno seeds, I never expected them to grow like this though. I also gave these seeds to Garyh3 on the list. Remember out of most of the UK I have the better weather as I live in Kent (very south-east).

I harvested 18 pods off mine. Most were about 2 inches but I had several at 3 inches before they ripened. Grown in a 12 inch pot.
The plant is getting ready to flower again so I hope to get a second crop.

mine are painfully slow the 2 biggest are only 70mm (i did get excited when i measured them but then noticed i was using the 1:2 side of a scale rule!
Hope we get a few days sun in the next 2 weeks as mine are still very green and the sun might grow them a bit more so i've a size worth entering.
Just picked off a load of the smaller one, to get the plant to concentrate on the biggest!

My Gigantia died off and my normal japs aren't that big... :(

Omri will send you seed when i harvest you may have better luck with these Gigantica as they may be a generation on from yours..i germinated some f1 and the plants where weird..ie irregular shaped leaves..stunted growth and spindly..the F2 have been much better grown as normal and producing pods fine :)

I guess a lot of people registered when they didn't have a single pod and forgot about it or stopped caring. 0.0cm is quite small even for an unknown variety and a bad season.

I sent this pic in as one of my best examples of corking but looking at the rules now, I should have taken the pic while it was still on the plant:( I also should have updated the length of my biggest jal, I would have likely made the top 10 anyways. Good job Chilipark with an impressive lead.
