Ok, I just watched Eraserhead................ what....the...helllll...was....that! That probably was the weirdest thing I have ever seen. And believe me, I've seen a ton of strange out there things. I dare say that was damn near too weird for me.
I was speachless last night when I watched it and I'm still speachless about it now. What a fantasticly weird, well directed, awesomly lit, mind boggling, upside down film......

I own this movie and have no yet watched it. I love David Lynch though. I tried watching that other movie he did with the rabbits and couldn't follow it so much. Eraserhead is a weird one though. I need to devote a night to it.

I don't know, it's such a deep film and you can take a mirriad of different avuenes to interperit even the smallest portion.
I think the baby's mind was so far advance that all the energy went into that and the body just didn't develope.

Brilliant film. Have seen it many times since the 80s.
I love Lynch. I'm still chewing on his latest opus; INLAND EMPIRE. Try wrapping your head around that sucker. LOST HIGHWAY was a real headscratcher too but I love it.

I list Eraserhead as one of the worst experiences of my life. What a torture! I have blacked out a lot of it, and do not want to relive the experience. All I know when I saw it in the theatre I was with a friend that told me that I would walk home if I left the movie. I stayed, but I have never forgiven him for that to this day 20+ years later.
I guess if I was into drugs then I would've liked it, but that sh*t was f'ed up.

El Topo has Erasurehead beat I reckon. I didn't even make it half way through the movie.
Cheers, TB.

!!!!
Which movie, El Topo or Eraserhead?
Strange you should mention El Topo. Jodorowsky is my all-time favorite director. I nearly worship him.

Un Chien Andalou. Modern surreal cinema doesn't come close to the original. Brilliant beyond words. Makes David Lynch look like a wannabe. But I may be biased - I think Lynch is artsy for shock, or for arts sake. Art without a message. Style without substance.
