Spring is here time to rebuild my tiller

This year im giving her new valves and rings and possably after the first pass a new paint job to get rid of the rust...gotta love a bit a primer and tremclad lol.Im doing the work myself I used to work at a small engine shop as a kid..

Well I got her going tonight thx to new points and a few weeks bad luck..Well not bad luck more like stupidity...either way tomorow is tune up day and im gitty as shit..I love working on motors!!The only thing left stock is block piston crank and cam...a 120 investment...not too shabby in my books(did all labor myself)The better part is that tiller turns out to be a troy built ...

Wow, what a new tiller - compared to mine! I'm using a model similar to one I used in '64. Yes, 40 years ago. But it works great, though I had to clean out a few parts. The next time I get it out, I'll try to post a picture.

Well in the end I dnt get to use it the carb is done even with new gaskets and it isnt even the right block for the tiller...I need a duel cam block..Guess I should have done my homework..By next spring if I dont come by a duel cam block I will buy one brand new,,If I can come across the used motor I can hone it and slap my piston and new rings in..Yet another dissapointment this year...damn..On the upside I did get the tiller for free and it used to work not right but it worked
