Aventinus. It's listed as a weizenbock, but I believe its a doppel-weizenbock. You should be able to find it at any liquor store that sells decent beer.

Spaten Optimator.
Ayinger Celebrator.
That's all you need to know.
All very good choices. I prefer a good Russian Imperial Stout with something really hot. Porters are also good.

Ayinger is awesome, but I've never been able to find Celebrator (the 2 liquor stores that would carry it aren't close to me). I just get the regular Ayinger, and it's one of my favorite beers.

Let's also not forget Dogfish Head Polo Sonto and also Nils Oscar's Inperial Stout.

When I use to drink (don't any longer) and I ate spice it didn't really matter as long as it was cold, beer, and had plenty of it.

Murphy's, Kilkenny's, Caffrey's but that's not dark. Actually anything Irish. Omri said Guinness.

i'm no help, i like pale ales and the ocasional red. the one and only time i drank guiness was in first year and i didn't really care for it but my friend and i loved the widget for some reason (for some drunk reason, we subscribed to the 'liquor before beer' philosophy so were already feelin' good...) so we kept drinking them anyways. 100 pound females should not split a six pack after shooting tequila is all i have to say.

Can't say that I am a guinness fan, but I have recently found out that what we get on tap in the states is a watered down version of guinness, meant to appeal to budweiser drinkers!!!WTF?
I have heard about the Kilkenny, (you bastards) Is it good? I really need to travel to europe sometime soon! Evidently they think that we yanks don't like good beer. Frankly it pisses me right off. Either that, or they are more concerned with mass sales than quality. Either way it stinks if you ask me.

I agree Kilkenny's is a lot better than Guinness, so is Caffreys. It seems most Irish pubs are called O'Connors.

How dare you?! sure it's not the best beer, but it's pretty damn good! it's more available, too.

I think Guinness is an acquired taste but it's very popular. I like that way you said 'How dare you' to Stillmanz Omri even though both Stillmanz and I said the same thing ;)

What you call guinness is only one of 18 frigging varieties that the cowards call guinness. It is more that than the bland lack of taste that pisses me off. What is the ABV there? Ours is like 3.5%....half of the abv of the original recipe. WTF?
We do get Guinness EXTRA, which is a lot better.
( I will admit that it makes one hell of a good beef stew though!)

I think normal is 4% or 5%, but there's a 7%+ version. tap only, though.

I'm a big fan of stouts, but I can just barely drink Guinness. It's like someone poured water into an mediocre stout. In fairness, I work with a guy who travels to Ireland, and he says it's 100x better there. I'll have to take his word for it.
Me? A man such as myself? When I feel like a stout I'm either reaching for a Sam Smith Oatmeal or a Jeffersons Reserve Bourbon Barrel... Heavenly!!!
Gah, I don't know how it's like over there, but I like the one here.
Better than all the locals and most imports. it's also everywhere, so you don't have to look for it. a pretty damn good drink!

I thought Guinness over here (UK) was about the same ABV whether in cans or draught but seems to be higher if you get it in bottles.

Why did they do this to us? Why didn't they just go with the best one?
It really bothers me. Chimay, Youngs, Sam Smith's....indeed I don't really need Guinness to be good.

As far as dark wheat beers go, Weihenstephaner HefeWeissbier Dunkel is definitely my favorite, but I tend to prefer lighter wheats. Give it a shot if you can find it.

That would be a "bowl cut" also known as a "prinston cut"....sorry, my mom's a professional hair dresser for the past 35 years and she's kinda pounded some stuff into me over the yaers....
How about giving bad reviews? just had Tuborg Green Label, and it was like flavoured water.

And I am with you IGG as far as the hair goes...I haven't cut mine in 2 years....I have that George Carlin look......whats left on top is combed straight back and it is all in a pony tail....
