I am making a concerted effort not to be a jerk anymore. So I am not going to post my usual smart-ass humor here.
Instead, I will just jack this thread, since it is about nothing anyways.
Who has a topic that isn't exactly thread-worthy but you want to bring up?
I want to drink less, because I drink 2 beers or so everyday.
I don't want to drink less, to prove it, I drink 2 beers everyday.
I am not an alcoholic, I just find beer yummy.

It's about getting drunk which I believe I will now so I can better follow this thread:lol: I opened this thread since I too sometimes feel like screw it I'm gettin' drunk! Now here's my turn to hijack the thread. I recently had some absolutely awesome beers from Stone Brewing Co. They were the Double Bastard Ale ( a higher alcohol content cousin of Arrogant Bastard) and Vertical Epic 7-7-07 an Anniversary Beer. Anyone ever had these? What did you think?

Yes, they come out with that one every year (5-05-05, 6-06-06, etc etc). I've placed that one in my basement to age for a year or two before I drink it. I may pick up a bottle to drink here sometime soon.

I'm the same way, bro. Although, it is dependent on the beers and if i've chowed down first or not. It can take 18 or so Natty lights before i get good and warm, but 7 or 8 optimators is all it takes to stoke the fire, so to speak.

Well, it time to go out drinking again. Tonight I will start my night out at La Cav Du Vin and finish here at home. They have a Naga Vodka (my peppers, their vodka) that I am going to try out.
Ok, I'm home from work early, the sun is shining, and the supper I was supposed to have with my mother, my aunt, and 2 of their friends has been canceled because they decided to share a cold at the beach. Got no where to go tomorrow morning, so I can sleep when I sleep.
So, I think I shall start with a Black Dog Ale and work my way darker.
Hm, wonder if I have any Heart of Darkness Stout tucked back...

I liken hops to peppers. It is a progression. Start out with a sierra nevada or a long hammer, then move on to some real hop monsters! Kinda like starting out with the occasional jalapeno on your nachos, and moving to (ahem) eating a whole ripe naga.(who was the idiot that did that?????;))

Hehe, you're going to love reading your own post tomorrow!
Lessee.. Had several Murphy's Stouts tonight, a few Jagermeister shots (leave me alone! I actually do really like the taste!), and one Michelob Lager (not bad actually!).
Bed time soooooon.....

So, on the subject of drunken food (let's pretend we were on the subject!).. I always have to get a large stuffed jalapeños from Jack In The Box, if I stop there. There's another place here in Dallas, that I'll stop at once in a while to try to sober up, called Los Arcos. They're open until 4am. It's downtown near all the good clubs/bars, and they have a dish called Fajitas De La Diabla. I finally got the sauce recipe from them, and they said it's "almost" pure Tapatio hot sauce. Not hot to me, but nice flavor, and very hot to your typical non-chilehead.
Oh, and once in a while, even after it's 2am*, you can ask for tequila, and they'll look around guiltily, and give you a shot in a water glass. :)
* 2am is cut-off time for any place serving booze in Texas
K, hopefully this is my last drunk post tonight!

Oh ya, I love reading those drunken posts and see just how badly I type (ok, I know I type poorly usually, but more so drunk).
The thing that fell off the car was just a cover plate (they didn't know to what) and said you'll be fine withoput it.

Yep! after network drivers, FF is my first download when I setup a computer. IE is just not comfortable... haven't used IE in ages (used Mozilla pack even before FF).
IGG I saw that you were drinking some good Dogfish Head beers last week. I am a huge fan of all their stuff. The Raison D' Extra is awesome. Have you had there 120 minute IPA? It's nothing like any other IPA I've ever had. It's better.

Love their Raison series!!!! Never had their 120 minute (can't get it in Cleveland because of the laws on abv limit). I generally don't do IPA's because I'm not that much of a hophead (don't like really hoppy things like IPAs). Don't get me wrong, I'd try it, but I don't think it'll strike my fancy.
Trust me you would love it. I am pretty sure you could get it wherever you got the World Wide Stout. It is not bitter at all like some IPAs are. It would change the way you think of IPAs.

MMM, MMM, GOOD!
That Bulliard's Hab sauce is kinda special to me, I bought a case of it...a few weeks before Katrina about wiped them out. They are still rebuilding after all that.
I don't even know if it's made anymore, but it's a great sauce.
I usually add spicy V8, but I'm out.
Habanero+Sriracha+Beer= evil goodness.

Ya, I love the dark beer being scot/irish/canuck, but that Ranier Ale is killer at 7.3% and yet not one of those crap ice beers...yuky.
If I ever get my Snakebite sauce from Mark, *coff, hint, nudge*, I'm gonna do that in a beer too...yes, I'm certifiable, the Gov't told me so..lol
Endorphin buzz + Beer Buzz = hella good times.

LOL, that would be from a liquar store in Kentucky. My friend drove down there just to pick up high abv beers for us.
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it.
Hell of a commute for beer. Must be a really good friend. Hey, I just had a thought amidst my Margarita haze. I am going to to do everything I possibly can to be at JJ's this year. I'll pick some up and bring them along. Along with a few other local favs of mine. I am lucky enough to have some really good breweries nearby. IE: Troegs, Appalachian, Weyerbacher, Yeungling (not one of my favs, but still closeby), even Lancaster Brewing Co makes some really terrific beers.
Some of us don't live in the Land of Reasonable and Sensible Beer Laws, we only visit to stock up.
Speaking of stocks, I just put my last two Weyerbacber's Ols Heathen Imperial Stouts in the fridge.
* goes to fridge, checks spelling*
Make that my last one.
*swigs*
*belches*
That's a great one Pam, but did you ever have the oak barrel aged version of Old Heathen? I believe it is called Heresy. I drove to that brewery last year and took the tour, spent about an hour and a half at the free tasting bar, and bought mixed cases to take home.

Nope. My folk's have been on my case for the past 3 years of so about my drinking and they've really been harping me since I got home three months ago. So to get them off my backs I'm not having any today just to prove to them that I can go a day without it.
Plus it's probably good for me to take a one day breather. I have been drinking everyday for the past 4 years religously ya know (well, except for that week of from the spider bite). But don't worry, I'll probably have a beer for breakfest to make up for lost liver damage time.

I keep looking at that in the store and debating buying some. They have several styles from that company. So far the stouts and porters have won the debate.

Growing up, Maudite and Fin du monde were always the scary high percentage french beers that were only sold in huge bottles. Strong even for Canadians.

The best part is if you look at the bottom of a bottle of maudite and Fin du monde you will see white sedimate. Its actually yeast so the longer it sits the stronger it gets..Just dont have the last sip from the bottle lol at least I belive Fin du monde has it too I know maudite has it
Actually that's only true for a short time after bottling. Eventually the yeast dies and stops fermenting. I know that there are a lot of microbrewers doing bottle conditioning, but I'm not too sure about Maudite. It's plenty strong though whenever you drink it.

I wonder if its the same now that Sleemans breweries bought Unibroue.
Good question. I hope so. Unibrou brewed some great beers. You'd think the Sleemans would recognize that and leave those beers alone, just sell them seperately.
