IGG...I completely adore you for quoting Back to the Future 3. Completely. Adore.
On the topic of booze...I like drinking on Thursday nights to start my weekend off right (even though Fridays where I work are typically INSANE), & tonight's it's plain ol' Miller Lite & a shot or two of the habanero vodka I made last week.

I've only really just started doing this...well given the amount of time between adding the pods & drinking it.
Something I did learn early was to add a couple of green pods, Serranos are good. It really helps to round out the flavor.

Had some really good beers last night. Our class played the staff in a softball game (we lost 4 - 14 and had to bear crawl around the bases) and we had some beers there. Since I drove, I only had a couple then resumed drinking once I didn't have to drive anymore. Had some Smuttynose IPA, Stone Russian Imperial Stout, Sierra Nevada 2008 Harvest Ale, and Berkshire Brewing Co. Smoked Porter. I'm pretty sure that is what the last one was called.
All of them were pretty damn good. Definitely give them a try.

Grrrr...I really have to stop visiting this thread on nights when I can't decide if I want to drink or not, lol. I always end up drinkin'.
Although.....my vacation to go see my folks is coming up next week...& although my family drinks I can't drink as much as I usually do because we get up for early morning hikes. I found out last year what happens when you sneak booze after Ma & Pa have gone to sleep...& then pretend that you're not hungover on the morning hike.
That is probably a cure for a hangover. I find that if I am not feeling too swift, exercise or work seems to help me feel better sooner. Drinking some more of my Dundee's Craft beer case tonight.
ImpyChick
08-25-2008, 08:14 PM
Yeah you're right Jay. Occasionally I'll go to the gym if I'm not too wiped out w/ a hangover...but there's a big difference between exercising hungover in a climate controlled gym...& exercising hungover in the scalding Arizona red rocks.

Heavy Seas is a line of beer from Clipper City brewing in nearby Baltimore. My favorite of that line is called Loose Cannon which is a very tasty double/imperial IPA with a lot of great flavor hops in the mix. You know, this is making me thirsty, so I am about to go pour myself a pint of my Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA clone (homebrew) from my kegerator... Be right back!

We used to say, an ounce of shrrom is a day you dont know how to know anymore...
it just is.
I found my ghost house..and it's fro sale. Ha, dogs bark at the house.
And nobody is there..that you can see. Wy it's been on market for sooo long.
Normals walk by, and they cant deal.
I walked alll around it..the latent energy is off the scale.
But, I can deal..it's full of old pain, and worse.
I'm well versed in pain and suffering..they already said hello. They will let me be there.
It was such a pretty house too b4 the murders. It's been vacant for years.
Hmmm. I like it.
I bet I can get it cheep. And, it has a big yard.
She used to love the Iris on the edges...I'l keep them.
It's WAY under price, like 25,000 under book... because nobody has ever stayed there sicne the bad things happened..but they want me. And i respect the dead.
If I'm meant to have it, I will. They wil see to it.
She smiled whwen I said I'd grow things there.
No, this isn't a drunk joke. ;)
I've always wanted this house....it's haunted 5 ways from Sunday..and it's lovely.
My fave shot

With some light...
http://www.darkgrid.com/images/S6301565.JPG
It's a fine little house, well made and sturdy. it just needs peace.
When I walke up the lane and sat on the porch..all the neighbor dogs stopped barking.
At once, I felt decades of presence..some most terribly evil..but one over shadowed them all and was good. Eliza. She was the original owner many decades ago.
She said she'd love someone to take care of her garden again...I see the traces of where it was..and feel her love of the earth. No wondr she hasn't left yet.
They need me. I feel it inside too..this a a place where I can be home.
As a celt..I know that feeling. The earth binds us to it's heart, as surely as the peat frees us unto eternity. The spirits of the ancestors are our guides and benefactors. We just have to listen.
If i can, I'll love this place as she did, and set her free. Or, I'm willing to share...shes a tuff cookie with a hundred years of gardening experience...heh.

Quad -- Dude...That house is baaaaaaaaad news. I'd sage the crap out of it, throw sea salt in every corner, and besom the crap out of the doorways. And that would be just a start.
I guarantee you that there's something else in that house besides....whatever the ladies name is.
Oh yeah...beer.
it.\
You are correct, there is. But, she's the dom in there. She owned it first.
And, I brook no trouble, but...you havent met me son...I pack a big fuking stick of the ages long past. I've fought demons and worse..no simple lost souls can touch me.
When I stepped up and sat on the porch..all of the other noisy idiot spirits left.
Then was very still, and I heard her..the real owner. We talked awhile..she just wants a caretaker for her roses and garden. Heh, like my mother would have. She's very nice. The nasty ones,..pfft, I'm no stranger to spirits. I'm ancient Celt. *I* scare them.
I can do things to them beyonnd all worlds if I have to. And they know it. I am all I need to be in any dimension.
DD..what no pee test too? Congrats on the Union 'thang and Happy B-Day. Ahhh Shiner Bock...oh the memories. Only a couple stores here have it off and on.
Quad...get yourself to Mississippi and find you a Mojo bag.

TB, I know about that stuff, and no thanks. I'm good. ;)
I've had a thousand years of being me...Druid trumps your swamps my friend.
No soul left on this planet nor any spirit can scare me. I am an eternal being now. The body dies, but that is nothing.
Many of you 'dream' past lives..you just cant accept it.
I walked past the house again today..it's still, and quiet.
Nobody even sees it's there anymore. I can bring it life again.
She wants it to be so. After 120 years, I heard her..and listend. That is all she ever wanted..someone to care for her flowers, her garden. And wash away the the stains of what happened after her. Those screams are what most feel and hear..and they have kept her alone for decades. I knew better.
You Think perhaps she wa the killer....perhaps she was. I'd be amused.
My father was a coroner, and i'm a Celtic heathen... perhaps she shoud be afraid of me. Dead, or not.
But, we talked...and the house, and us, will be at peace. Not all spirits are bad.
She was alone for over a century..but still polite, I sense no evil in her. That is tellng. It's a crappy nieghboerhood nowdays..but there's hope.
Tip, the temp on that porch raised about 20 degrees after her and i talked. Its nto cold now..to me at least. It wasnt her. it was the evil ones who'd come afterwards.
Ha, let them come...I'll send them to worse places than hell. I still have my magyck.
Yes Duck, I know candles, sage, and all that the wiccans purifying rituals learned from us. And much we never taught them. My amulets of mind and memory invoke far more elemental, frightening and older things. I shall be fine.
No spirit or demon on this plane can hurt me. I, can hurt them. With a few words.
I like her..she'll love gardening with me. I feel that potential. I belong there.
We are both lonely and dangerous. She's just a few hundred years younger. But, we love the earth. If I do get the house, it'll be hers and mine..until she's ready to go on. If she stays, I'm happy..she's an excellent conversationalist.
And no, she's very grandmotherly..it's not like that...

Christ Quad, that house gives me the heebies just looking @ it. It LOOKS haunted.
Thats because it is. Many times over. :)
One reason that I want it. That, and it's 2br, 1bath 1896 house wih yard front and back for 80k. Well, it was 30k in 2002, 40k in 2004...get the idea?
Something happend there..which explains the screamers..dumb lost idiots. Easily dispatched. Duck is right abotu that much...a simple ritual cleansing and the will of the owners to dispell....me, and Eliza. (she needed a human will, she is too old... her will is still strong..but she cant even materialize physically)
And they would be gone forever as they should be. They fled when I sat on the porch.
if I grew new green things and brought back her roses (there are gnarled evidences of roses stil there on both sids of the house), loved it as she did...then it would be complete. The darkness over that house would be broken.
Then she could rest.
I walked around the place as much as could, loads of iris 4' high, other flowers run amok...it looks liek nobody has gardened there fro a decade at least.
Its somethng my mother woulda loved.
:)
Shoved four fresh Naga Morich pods into a beer bottle the other and finally tried it today. all I can say is - HOLY **** OF **** WITH **** **** **** GOD!!!1... was a bit hotter than my Tabasco sauce. ;)

I went to Chama River Brewing Company (Passow, we took you there.) for my B-Day lunch and they have a new Porter. "Voluptuous Porter".
Very nice, toasty malt perfectly blended with hops...not too bitter. There's a good chocolate overtone with a slight cinnamon undertone....a few notes of coffee. The finish is classic porter in the fact you want more and more and more.
The beer comes in at 5.8% ABV so you can have pretty much all you want without getting too tipsy.

You probably enjoy cask beer then right? Remember your pit stop in Lancaster at the Brewing Co? Every other Friday night they have one of their beers on cask. Yummmmmmm! I'm drinking Mojitos tonight with fresh lime and mint. May drink my last Duvall that was given to me by a friend.

If you ever get back this way again you have to let me know. There are four -no- six good breweries with beerpubs within a 60mile radius. Victory, Stoudts, Troegs, Appalaccian, Lancaster, and Iron Hill. As well as some smaller ones that make really good beer. I feel lucky to live here. If the hurricanes stay away I am going to Stoudt's Saturday after the Bower's Pepper Festival.

Smells like a road trip! lol
It's more like two trips. All them in one day would be too much. The most I have made it through in one day is 3 of them. They do have beerfests at a couple of them a few times a year where they have 20 or so brewers come in with kegs and you pay $30 for a glass and four hours to sample all you want. That is a drunken day. You'd love the one in October at Stoudts. German food buffet and music.

Speaking of local breweries...
I visited JJ Bitting Co. Brewpub this past weekend. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it was THE BEST microbrewed/brewpub offerings i have ever had. I sampled all 6 of the varieties they had and every one was amazing. They are voted the #2 brewpub in the US. My favorite was their W.H.A.L.E.S. IPA. Just fantastic! All week i've beeen craving a growloer of anything they have. Bonus to all this? Not more than 2miles from my home. :D Hot sauces on tap were some kind of Franks's knockoff and Tiger Sauce. The food was incredible too. I had a buffalo burger and it was just perfect. They need some better hot sauces though. I smell partnership!!
Get in there and sell them. Hot sauce and microbrews go together. They are meant to be together. Have you ever been to the Tun Tavern in AC? That's the only microbrewery I've been to in NJ, but it was good.

That's why I normally drink out of cans, actually if I'm honest that's also because I don't have a dish washer (not a mechanical one anyway) and I like the taste out of cans, they're a real bummer to knock over though, the beer spreads like lava and seems to have a knack of spilling into the most awkward places.

As long as it isn't one of those tall, thin walled ones, they shatter everywhere, and not your best crystal ones, I can break them even if you give me water. I need a chunky one like the freebies you used to get from the petrol stations and in my shameful younger days, free from the local pub.

Man, you're a lost twin or something aren't you RB?
I actually have a towel just for beer spills.
I used to have a BIG glass I loved that held about 30oz ez, natch I broke it.
Now I either use plastic or this old HEAVY glass mug I got at thrift for like $1. I've actually bounced it off of a hardwood floor, as the bottom is about 1.5" thick..heheh.
Glad you enjoyed the pretties, I used to be big into goth/punk/neuwave stuff back in the 80s-90's, I guess I always will. :)

Offerings have to be non-accidents. ;)
I occasionally offer up the last bit of beer in a pint glass as an offering to the beer gods. Only once in a while though.
I'm finishing my torture of saucemaking. Nose is burning and running, eyes are tearing, coughing, sweating, loving every minute of it. Rewarding myself with my last Duvel.

Just sit me by the beer table or the paddling pool filled with beer cans then I'm safe, I won't eat your meat from the BBQ if it's got a bone in it so minus the meat I'm not too expensive.
