This may be a silly question. I just don't know the answer. What are the healthy stats on hot sauce? I love my hot sauce. I recently went on a diet and haven't gotten to use my sauces yet. Are there any things is should be worried about or are hot sauces diet friendly? Thanks for indulging my n00b question.

I think that's a great big "it depends".

If you're on a low carb diet, some of the sauces may have too many carbs, simple and complex. Some may have salt, which is bad for some diets. And some have sugar.

You just gotta read the label on each bottle and see if it fits in with the diet you're on.

every meal is hot for me.I just used up my last bottle of ass reaper for maranating wings..Ill let you know if I survive lol...The way I look at it is use anything with a little bit of moderation and it should be ok..(I should practise what I preach lol)..either way eat and enjoy

For the most part hot sauces aren't bad for you at all. Peppers, vinegar, lime juice, spices...that's mostly what people use. I mean really...what kind of nutritional info do you need out of that?

But yes, I'd shy away from the sweet sauces because of the sugar content.

but lets remember sugar is not bad for you (unless a diabetic) the sugar is coming from fruits, which are not bad for you & the fruits give you other health benifits. salt is the worst thing for you that'd be in hot sauces, other than that enjoy the heat - if you're worried about salt intake then best bet is to make your own or only buy those certain hot sauces that have no salt.
