red savinas, golden habanero, a few more are hot enough that they are diff. to pick. other than gloves, any tips?

You growing peppers, hothydroponicist? Keep your gloves on or hire someone immune to capsaicin to pick 'em for you.

Get a box of rubber gloves - if you have a lot to pick you'll need em- dragon is right and it is probably your best bet.

i know one thing after you mess with the peppers dont forget to take off the gloves before you take a wizzzz

As someone who one picked over 50 pounds of red savinas in1 day, as long as your are just picking, not cutting or chopping, you don't really need gloves.
Now, if the fruit are damaged or soft/past their prime, That's when you risk burning your fingers. All the heat that's not fit to touch is trapped inside the skin of the pepper.

I use latex gloves when cutting them up and cooking with them. I can't say I've ever had problems picking them without gloves...but I guess it's possible. The latex gloves work great, though....cheap andd effective.

I guess that's a leeson best learned from experience. I learned my lesson making habanero salsa one day.....
