Can you eat too much spicy food? I know that your taste buds can be deadened and you can develop ulcers, but if you don't have ulcers, is there a health risk beyond that? Cancer or anything else? I love hot food, and I am planning on eating a lot more, I just wanted to know what anyone else thinks.

It's never to much...lol
Spicy food does not do anything harmful to your body at all.
Maybe you will get acid reflux or indigestion.
It was once believed stress and spicy foods caused ulcers but has since been proven false.
Some doctors say peppers will hurt your taste buds after years of abuse. Some doctors say it won't?
There are many benefits of eating peppers
I believe the benefits eating peppers out weight any cons there might be.

:onfire:Eating raw habs kinda makes my stomach queasy for about 15 minutes. Too many can cause a ring of fire sensation.

I don't know where you get your information from but there is no long term damage sustained by your taste buds from eating chile, nor does eating chile cause ulcers or cancers. you may get jaloproctitis or a bit of the good old anal pruritis, hunan hand, fiery fanny or burnt willy but nothing serious or permanent - if so do you think the police would use pepper spray or allow it's sale?

Watch out if you have bad asthma or breathing problems, but other than that chiles are good for you.

Agreed. We don;t allow asthmatics or others with respiratory problems into our wing-eating competitions. Esophageal closure can't really put a dent into the day.

It's never acted up before on me due to heat...but this last time it did for some reason. If this is a start of a new trend for my body then I don't know what I'd do.
