I saw this and realized how good most of us have it just because this isn't an occupational hazard.

I'm not making fun of these people...just makes me realize that while I have a job that can be hazardous (I'll tell you about my lab accident in another thread), suffering this kind of death isn't one of them.

Man, what a way to go. The worst tragedy is the fact that all those others followed him into there to help him out. I was permit-required confined-space qualified when i worked as a union insulator and asbestos abater(most of my jobs were in oil yards in North Jersey), and that has got to be some of the roughest work there is. I've personally seen novice first responders in an emergency dive into a tank or vessel and never come out under their own power.
