I tried some habanero doritos yesterday. I was expecting a nice hot snack. Boy what a disapointment they were not hot at all. Anyone know were I can find some hot chips.

yea those chips taste good..but aren't hot at all. these are probably more of what you are looking for: http://www.thehotpepper.com/showthread.php?t=2520

not as hot as their sauces..but hotter than anything doritos has ever put out for sure. (and they taste great!)

ya can't really blame the dorito people though. honestly look at the percent of the population that can handle a lot of heat. maybe 2% at most 5%. no way they could justify production of a chip line to that small of a demographic. but yah im with ya, not hot at all. bummer.

they're ok tastewise -heat not really there. just like Gardenkiller said we're (us chileheads) a small percentage of the population, & they're out to make alot of money instead cater to us few that want extreme heat. if I want more spice I just pour hot sauce onto the chips while eating them or just take a swig straight from the bottle.

since I'm talking about snacks, those pretzels from "snyders from hanover" the jalapeno flavor are tasty they're not hot but still good to eat IMO, their buffalo wing flavor is Nasty!!

i agree, those jalapeno pretzel bites are damn good! and yea..the buffalo ones aren't great. neither are hot...though i think the jalapeno pretzels might be hotter than the doritos :P

Plus, a lot of people like to think they can eat hotter stuff than they really can. By calling it Habanero Doritos instead of Jalapeno or Serrano Doritos, they attract the " I wanna be a macho man" crowd.

i try and always look at the glass half full...at least the hot products are getting some national attention. mabey it will bring people here to try and find the next heat level up and then be addicted...lol

We have the same problem here in Germany. There are coming lots of "hot" products/food into the supermarket, and its all lame. Even when McD or BK sell new hot stuff.
But you can heat up your chips yourself.Buy your favourite brand, open the bag, insert as much chilipowder as you like, shake it and "feddisch";)
