View Full Version : E.Z. EARL SAMPLE PROGRAM EXPIRES
E.Z. Earl
05-26-2007, 01:08 PM
Over the first year on the market E.Z. Earl offered a free "pony-taster" sample of his gold medal winning Blazin'-Hot Sauce and Smokin'-Hot Sauce. It was anticipated 500 to 750 samples would be mailed. At the time the offer expired on May 15, 2007 Branding Iron Foods and Stirling Foods had sent out over 12,500 samples. The response has been fantastic from all 50 states and 17 foreign nations. It resulted in several large restaurant distributors, several restaurants (including our Marco at Mr. D's Wings & Ribs in MD), many consumers, and one professional baseball team!
Thanks everyone! - E.Z. :)

Thanks. I am a bit overwhelmed myself by what was to simply be a little "busy-box" retfirement activity for me. I am not sure where it is all headed, but it can get damn scary if I think about it too hard! - E.Z.

Ah, yes - good question. I will answer it but then I will have to kill you!
I could not fight their war chest, so I agreed to with draw and not file any new T/M's with the words Hot Stuff included. But I did not agree that I didn't own the trademark. So my latest filing is for E.Z Earl's Blazin'-Hot including graphics and color. Then I can add BBQ, Stuff, etc in the curve under the T/M. We will see if this end run works out.

DD...How long have the Isotopes been in Albuquerque? On an episode of The Simpsons, the Springfield Isotopes moved to Albuquerque. I was wondering if the two were related at all.

To be honest, I couldn't really tell you. They were here when I moved to NM 2 years ago.

Here is the latest on this question. The PTO approved my new "E.Z. EARL'S BLAZIN'-HOT" name, colors, and logo graphics this week, and scheduled it for publication for comments or objections some time in August. So the fat is again in the hot sauce and the next few months will determine if I have to do battle with the Ogre of the Midwest. This time I will have to fight any objection. The colors and drawing really strengthen my claim while weakening their objections. - E.Z.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I was up at a lodge on Barclay Sound in B.C. this week.
The graphics have not changed much from the original, Jon. It is the label on the bottle you have with just the word "STUFF" removed from the lowere curved section.
How are things with you? - E.Z.

Woody - Pick away! Actually I have had several similar requests for this info. Therefore, I posted a new thread in the FOOD BUSINESS section to broadcast the answers. Please check there.
To all - sorry I couldn't get back to you individually, but as you can imagine the time pressure on me is escalating with the sucess of the sauces and the Stirling coffee syrups. - E.Z.
