Work up this morning with Weird Al's "It's All About The Pentiums" at 8:30 AM stick in my head, then at about 12PM it switched to "Duel of the Fates" from Star Wars Episode I. Now playing in my head at 1:00PM is "Banana Phone".
So...what song is stuck in YOUR head?

I got to work this morning and one of the guys was singing the "Thermos song" by Steve Martin and it's been in my damn head all day now.

various bits of songs by paganini..i got this album of songs he composed and someone is playing them on the guitar..its really good..but i'm not too familiar with it yet, so i'm getting random parts getting stuck in my head..at least it is good music, so i guess i can't complain.

Xgrafcorex...sounds like you got some Yingway Malmsteen on the brain. Paganini is his guy he pretty much genuflects to.

nah, its not malmsteen..i'm not sure who it is..i'll have to look it up. its an acoustic album..probably at least 20 songs all by paganini. would love to hear malmsteen lay some of it though. check out this video of jason becker playing a paganini song i'm learning (granted i might play the little i know at about half the speed of this guy) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8725540685439152718

I dig the stuff that Jason Becker and Marty Friedman did in Cacophony. At first I liked Yingway's playing early ala' "Black Star" but nowadays it just sounds like spahgetti in a blender. Too much, too fast, all the time. I much prefer Michael Schenker.Doesn't hurt that a Flying V picks up more chicks too!!

Andres Sergovia used to do a ton of Paganini. Old dude with chops out the window! I believe he's dead now.
Anyway, I've got INXS "Don't Change" rattling around in my head. Mostly because it's a tune my band plays and I have to have it down by Friday!

today, it is "no it isn't" by +44
Which is an interesting song in that the lyrics have been apparently crowbarred into the verses, and it's not as catchy as Blink 182, but I like it a lot

I am now listening to "I May Just Have To Murder James Blunt" and "Everything Sounds Like Coldplay" by a UK comedy genius called Mitch Benn. If any of you are P2P people, seek them out. V good.
If you're aware of who James Blunt is, of course.

Some of the benefits of not listening to popular music include not hearing the crap repeatedly and having no clue what "Coldplay" sounds like :)
Seriously, the only time I heard James Blunt was when DirecTV was pitching his PPV concert, and I wouldn't know a Coldplay song to prevent nuclear war.

"Shout at the devil" by Motley Crue. Wow.
I had all the Crue albums up to and including Dr Feelgood when I was in my teens. Too AGES to hunt down Too Fast For Love on vinyl and Shout At The Devil on casette.
And, with the exception of Helter Skelter, I found them both largely unlistenable. :)

how about this ? from my favorite band, who knows it ? kinda easy if you know the band
--------------------------------------------------------
strangers in the mud
these mutants, blood-meal for the plant that's plowed
they are waiting to take us into the severed garden
do you know how pale & wanton thrillful comes death on a strange hour unannounced, unplanned for
like a scaring over-friendly guest you've brought to bed
death makes angels of us all & gives us wings
where we had shoulders smooth as ravens claws
no more money, no more fancy dress
this other kingdom seems by far the best
until its other jaw reveals incest & loose obedience to a vegtable law
I will not go
perfer a feast of friends
to the giant family
--------------------------------------
plus their remake of "albinoni's adagio in G minor" which is great IMO

could be tex, or it could be one of these 'hot' songs:
Drop it like it's hot - Snoop dog
Here comes the Hotstepper (could be easily changed to 'the HotPepper!) - Ini Kamoze
Hot 'Lanta - The Allman Brothers Band
Hot Child In the city - Nick Gilder
Hot Dog - Led Zep / Limp Bizkit
Hot for teacher - VH
Hot in herre - Nelly
Hot smoke and sassafras - bubble puppy
Hot Stuff - Rolling Stones / Donna Summer
Hots on for nowhere - Led Zep (were they chileheads?)
Long Hot Summer - the Tom Robinson Band
She Was Hot - Rolling Stones (chileheads!)
The kid is hot tonight - Loverboy
you think you're hot stuff - Jean Knight
or what about these 'burning' tracks:
Burn - Usher / The Cure
Burn Away - Foo fighters
Burn one down - Ben Harper
We be burnin' - Sean Paul
What it is to burn - Finch
Hands of death (burn baby burn) - Rob zombie
chile songs anyone:
Hot chilli woman - Noiseworks
there are others but I'm done!

chilliman, actually I thought you were referencing the "Ring of Fire" Cash song as yesterday the media reported that a home owned by Johnny Cash caught fire and burnt to the ground. Not too many know about Bubble Puppy...one of my favorite all time tunes.."Hot Smoke and Sassafras" is on my ipod.
But as long as you are on the "hot" song topic......
They're Red Hot - Robert Johnson
Red Hot - Robert Gordon
Hotter than Hell - Kiss
Hot Rats - Frank Zappa
Burnin' for You - Blue Oyster Cult
Burn Down the Mission - Elton John
Anyone else?

ok I dont know if anyone of you were trying to guess, so I'll just say it, that was the "a feast of friends" by The Doors (well Jim Morrison album)
as for the songs with some form of - hot/heat/spice/etc.. could be endless, not worth my time to figure those out since it'd take some time going through them all, but I could come up with several.
red hot chili peppers are also a favorite for me, but then again I listen to a wide range of music, which some have said how could you listen to this & like that also.
