As most of you know, The Hot Pepper is a great source for all things related to the almighty pepper, and it's doors are open to everyone who would like to be a part of an exciting network of chileheads. As this forum continues it's growth of manufacturers and retailers, myself included, we need to refrain from promoting our own products within the disscusion threads. The adminstrator has kindly provided the Marketplace forums for such posts. Please feel free to post promo posts there.
Thank you for understanding.

Discussion is fine, self-promotion needs to be in The Marketplace. Not new, just reiterating. You can also help moderators by reporting posts using the report icon. Also remember, with your signature, you are already getting your advertising into discussions.

Wow.... guess I started this all with my reply to the iron tongue - which I have since edited. My post was in reply to a direct question from him regarding sauces. I listed mine as well as 3 OTHER manufacturers, and actually pushed him to other manufactureres as I knew their stuff was hotter than mine (I'm an excellent salesman). I do understand the rule, and will not do it again, but I hope everyone that does it gets the little red light on their posts and the penalty point assessment as well. How many of those have been given out?

You didn't start it Huv.. I'm guilty as well. There have been others in the past who have blantantly abused the rule, so in order to keep the balance, and to prevent hard feelings and accusations of being a site bias to only a certain few, the Admin is only trying to remind us all that we just need to be careful.
The Hot Pepper is showing a steady growth of membership, which includes many manufacturers and retailers. In order to keep this site from becoming a free for all, the Admin has created many new forums and sub-forums in recent weeks to give as many areas as possible for folks in the business to post about our own products and business news. The Marketplace forum is a great place to promote, and the signature can still be used for displaying achievement awards and website links to your site's..The Admin has provided us with a free place to gain and give information, and is a wonderful network for chileheads. We just need to drive between the lines.
Thanks,
Cap'n
