Hot sauce makers, take a lesson on the heat!

I'm still burning... Yummm

Tastewise, it's not impressive, it is far too reminiscent of a Frank's Red Hot with a Habanero paste added.

Gotta admit, though, I do like the heat on this one. But, because my ears didn't ring, I can only give it a 7.

Of the Dave's Gourmet sauces I've actually tried, this one is probably my fave thus far. The Insanity and Ultimate Insanity are mostly heat (ask Linda about her chili cookoff story! ), but this one has a nice flavor.

Oh, oh, oh!

If I were Jewish, I'd be VERKLEMPT!!

I can't believe this, now, I just can't.

I just found out that DAVE's isn't Dave's... it's http://kamukcr.com/index.html

And so is Melinda's

And so is Goya

And so is Jamaican Choice.

Sigh.

Oh, if I must...

Joe and I went to the D.C. Chili Cookoff in 1998. It was the end of May, but hot as hell outside. It must have been in the 90's and very humid. Not the most perfect day to eat chili, but we did it despite the heat. Anyway, we're walking along tasting all these chilis. Joe ended up a little bit ahead of me and I stopped at one stand that had a bunch of hot sauces out on the table as condiments. I got my little 2 oz. cup of chili and put about a teaspoon of Dave's Insanity on top and promptly chugged & swallowed the whole thing. There were no stands that sold drinks for what seemed like a block. It was all I could do just to try to breathe, let alone talk. So, I didn't. Joe didn't understand why I wasn't talking. I was way too embarrassed to tell him what I had done. Eventually, I began talking again, but the sweat that was coming from me had little to do with the temperature outside and EVERYTHING to do with that sauce. I'm a lot smarter now. I think we've both watched each other suffer a few times for our love of hot sauces. :)

LOL, I'm so glad you shared that.

You wouldn't be the first person to slather on a hot sauce not realizing how hot it really is... I doubt you'll be that last... right Joe???

hehe

Hey, despite my education...I have been occasionally known to do things that might suggest that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. 8)

Guilty as charged.
